Infographics

This week I've been looking at infographics. Some great examples above of work by Nicholas Felton, and below by Rodrigo Machado and the Milan-based graphic designers Mauro Napoli and Luca Masud.

Finally here's some of my own work in progress, which details the evolving line-up of seminal LA hardcore band Black Flag. The band's in-house artist, Raymond Pettibon (brother of guitarist Greg Ginn), used the font Friz Quadrata for the design of their logo. This may have been in reference to the band's anti-authoritarian stance, as the font would have been recognisable from the credit sequence of popular contemporary cop-show Law and Order as well as its official use by the New York City Police Department. I've used it here too, and maintained the no-frills black and white pallet of the Pettibon's artwork.
Also planned for the series are Napalm Death (23 current and former members so far), Hawkwind (approximately 40), and The Fall (60+). Any other suggestions very welcome!
